Moving on to bigger and better blogging

Hi guys - it's funny... I just got a few followers on this blog and bam! I have been working hard on starting up a new personal site with a blog included...

You can find it here...

http://yarn-or-fabric.weebly.com/crafty-blog.html

This blog is going to go bye-bye in just a bit... there will be no more updates to the blog... or to the beginnings of my tutorial lists...
Please come and check out the new and incredibly improved yarn-or-fabric site. I have to say I'm really smitten with it - and already told my husband that I would like to change our business website a bit as well - I'm really impressed with the weebly site. I've been having a blast collecting links for it. If you sew - boy do I have some great tutorial lists!!

I hope to catch you all on the new blog - please leave messages there even if it's just to say hi!

Wristlet Round Up - A List of Free Wristlet Purse Tutorials

I belong to several yahoo groups for quilting - there's no surprise there, I know... This morning one of the ladies in one of the groups wrote in looking for a wristlet tutorial... so as I was compiling a list for her I thought - hey, I really need to compile a list here!
Some may be new to you as well! I will be adding to this list of wristlets - and creating more super lists in the future!

NoodleHead Zippy Wallet Love

Not all tutorials online are fantastic - in fact, a lot of them are just lemons - but I have to say that I love the Noodlehead Zippy Wallet tutorial. I've made three so far - okay, two that I deemed worthy... One I actually chucked since I don't know what I was thinking when I was sewing it together and decided that it would take longer to rip it apart and fix it than to just remake it from scratch.

I give the Noodlehead Zippy Wallet tutorial two thumbs up!
http://noodleheads.blogspot.com/2009/10/zippy-wallet-tutorial.html

It's quick - taking about 30-45 minutes to whip one of these bad boys out.
It's a well written & photographed tutorial.
Yeah, it's a keeper :)

The one on the left is for my friend, Karen. The machine embroidery design is courtesy of Urban Threads over at http://www.urbanthreads.com/
I made hers a wee bit bigger to give the embroidery design a bit of breathing room. I didn't want it to be all cramped and all!!

The butterfly one is for me - I just loooove that fabric!! I added that super cute button on the little card-securing flap. It just matches perfectly!

Shhh! A Sale is Around the Corner!!

I have been very quiet the past few months but I have been very busy! Caron has been keeping me on my toes with project after project so there has been little to report in CraftyDeb.com land.

I have just been asked to do a few more projects for Caron that are on a close deadline so sadly those have to take priority before I get back to designing for the site - although I might have a few tricks up my sleeve - I have one project that has been haunting me in my sleep so I’ll be working on that one shortly… Considering how much I have envisioned it I do believe it will flow off the hook :)

But the big news… A sale is around the corner according to my inside site building source…. Can’t say when but I will say it’s coming up!

Shhhh! Here they are!!

So these guys got their photo shoot today - and they had fun. They're a bunch of hams I'm telling ya! They're out with a few testers as I type - and hopefully will come back with a clean bill of health quickly so they can make their official entrance!

Still looking for an official name... I have had a few suggestions and I'm leaning towards one that was made.... I'm still entertaining other names though! Let me know what you are thinking!!

Second Sight Thrift Store

I have been missing in action for a few weeks and I'm sure there are a few that are wondering if I fell from the face of the earth in to some unknown cavern transporting me mysteriously to some dinosaur filled land that is way cooler than Will Farrell's version of a nifty netherworld...

But the kids are out of school... then I went on vacation for a bit.. but I'm back and will be coming back strong! Look for new designs on the site to roll out the end of the month and
throughout the upcoming months!

If you have made a CraftyDeb.com creation - please email me pictures! I'd love to post them up in the Gallery of Greatness!!

Anyhooo.... I wanted to show off some pictures from my trip!
I went to a great thrift store Called the Second Sight Thrift Store - it specializes in FABRIC!! whoo hooo! Here is their fabric department - okay, I'll come clean - they also have clothing - fancier stuff for formals and whatnot from the looks of it but I don't go to that area.. I go to the fabric area.... no surprises there, aye?

The Second Sight Thrift Shop, operated by volunteers of Visual Impairment & Blindness Services, is now located at:
The Trolley Station Mall
Lower Level–Rear Door
224 Nazareth Pike
Bethlehem, PA 18020
Hours of Operation:
Wednesday-Thursday-Friday: 12:00 am to 5:00 pm
Saturday: 11:00 am to 3:00 pm

Build a Buddies and Killdeer chicks

I wanted to let you all know right off the bat that I made a big change to the Perfect Sized Stuffie series - the name has been bothering me from the get go so I up and changed it. That is not a normal thing for me to do and yes, it is rather unprofessional. I feel like Ford changing the Windstar to the Freestar... but I did it... You can still find them - but look under Build a Buddy since that is so much more appropriate!

The killdeer's eggs have finally begun to hatch! Buster has let them be fortunately. I'm glad he did. I don't know if I could have handled him destroying more of her eggs... So without further ado - a few pics of the proud mama and her babies!
